Olga Kivius I was very surprised when I read that this Australian jazz piano trio has existed for 10 years. I've never heard of it before, the name of L.Swanton, the double-bass player of The Necks is well-known for me though))
This live recording was very nice, so I've listened to other their albums. They are versatile talented!
Their album "Fit" (2009) reflects their remarkable creative experimental capabilities the most fully, and although it didn't receive any prizes, I highly recommend to listen to it. Favorite track: Seventh Song.

about

The stars align! This is the first live recording from Alister, Lloyd and Toby in their 20 year history.

This recording has taken us a bit by surprise. In March we asked stellar sound engineer Ross A'hern to record a trio performance at the Sound Lounge in Sydney, and it sounds so great! As Ross describes it, making a live recording is somewhat of a 'slippery eel.' Many things have to come together: a good sounding room, with an excellent engineer and equipment, and the band being consistently 'on song.' For years I have been looking for a recording that captures the energy and interplay that we enjoy together in a live performance setting. With this CD the stars have aligned! We hope you enjoy the results.
